Infiltration bid foiled, Pak ultra gunned down in Rajouri

JAMMU: Alert Army personnel foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jhangar, in Rajouri’s Nowshera, and shot dead one Pakistani terrorist on Tuesday.Acting on intelligence inputs, soldiers detected the movement of two terrorists along the LoC around 3pm, the Army’s White Knights Corps stated in an X post. “Responding with swift and calibrated combat action, alert troops engaged swiftly, successfully foiling the infiltration attempt. In the ensuing engagement, one Pakistan-sponsored terrorist was eliminated, effectively denying any breach of the LoC,” the post added.

The post further stated that Army personnel had been “reoriented to search for the second terrorist and to ensure relentless domination of the area, supported by integrated ground and aerial surveillance. A robust operational posture and heightened alert continue across the sector.”Earlier, the Army had foiled an infiltration bid by a group of terrorists along the LoC in Rajouri district on March 4. Last month, soldiers had thwarted another infiltration attempt along the LoC in Nathua Tibba area of Sunderbani on Feb 19. Troops had recovered arms and ammunition during a subsequent search of the area the following day.
