Scotland Women 159/5 in 19.4 Overs | Scotland Women vs Ireland Women Live Score, Women’s T20 World Cup 2026: Kathryn Bryce vs Gaby Lewis rivalry headlines the Group A clash

Scotland Women vs Ireland Women Live Score, Women’s T20 World Cup 2026: Scotland Women take on Ireland Women in the second Group A match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 at Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester on Saturday. The match will begin at 10:30 AM local time (3:00 PM IST), with both sides looking to kick off their campaigns positively in a group featuring England, New Zealand, West Indies and Sri Lanka.

Scotland are appearing in their second consecutive Women’s T20 World Cup after making their debut in 2024. While they failed to register a victory in that edition, the team has made considerable progress over the past two years.

They qualified for the tournament by winning five of seven matches in the Global Qualifier and also enjoyed success in a quadrangular series and a recent tri-series. Captain Kathryn Bryce has been the driving force behind Scotland’s rise, while Darcey Carter and experienced leg-spinner Abtaha Maqsood provide additional strength.

Ireland, on the other hand, return to the global event after missing qualification for the previous edition. Under captain Gaby Lewis, they have built a settled squad and have produced impressive results during the current World Cup cycle, winning 19 of their 25 completed T20Is.

A historic series win over Pakistan last year highlighted their progress, while all-rounder Orla Prendergast has emerged as one of the side’s most influential players.

The opening encounter carries added significance given the history between the two teams. Ireland hold a slight advantage overall, but the rivalry has been evenly matched in recent years. Scotland had also knocked Ireland out in the 2024 Qualifiers, giving Lewis and her side extra motivation heading into the contest.

With both teams aiming to make a breakthrough on the world stage, a winning start could prove crucial in shaping their tournament hopes.
