India’s white-ball tour of Ireland gets underway tomorrow on Friday, June 26, with two-match T20I series at the Civil Service Cricket Club (Stormont) in Belfast. The contest marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Indian side, with Shreyas Iyer set to lead the team in T20Is for the first time. The series has generated significant interest among fans, particularly because 15-year-old batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is expected to make his international debut. The youngster impressed throughout IPL 2026 and has now earned his maiden call-up to the senior national side.

Why is the match starting earlier than usual?

Unlike India’s usual T20I start time of 7:00 PM IST, both matches in the Ireland series will begin at 6:00 PM IST (1:30 PM local time). Cricket Ireland decided to bring forward the start time by an hour to reduce the scheduling clash with India’s crucial Women’s T20 World Cup fixture against Australia on June 28. While some overlap remains unavoidable, the revised timing will allow fans to follow a larger portion of both matches.
