Iran president Pezeshkian briefs PM Modi on Middle East tensions, way forward

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held a telephonic conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, who briefed him on the latest developments and the way forward in the West Asia crisis.During the conversation, Prime Minister Modi welcomed the understanding reached and reiterated India’s consistent position that all issues must be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy.The Prime Minister also stressed the need for continued efforts to ensure lasting peace and stability in the region, while underscoring the importance of safeguarding freedom of navigation and commerce.The phone call comes amid ongoing diplomatic efforts to preserve the fragile peace agreement between Iran and the United States following months of conflict.This is a developing story….
