Lamine Yamal’s £9M+ mansion targeted in attempted burglary hours after Spain beat France to reach FIFA World Cup 2026 final

Spain star Lamine Yamal was reportedly the target of an attempted burglary just hours after helping his country secure a place in the FIFA World Cup final. The 19-year-old winger played a key role in Spain’s impressive 2-0 victory over France, winning a crucial penalty as his side booked their spot in Sunday’s title clash. However, the celebrations were cut short after two suspected intruders allegedly tried to enter his luxury home on the outskirts of Barcelona during the early hours. The burglars were forced to flee before gaining access after Yamal’s private security team detected their movements and alerted the authorities.

Police launch investigation after attempted break-in at Lamine Yamal’s luxury home

According to reports, two hooded suspects were seen climbing onto a wall surrounding Lamine Yamal’s property shortly after Spain’s World Cup semi-final victory. The pair allegedly planned to break into the house while the Barcelona forward was away with the national team. The suspects were reportedly spotted by the home’s security surveillance system before they could enter the property. Once they realised they had been caught on camera, they fled the scene without stealing anything.Yamal’s private security team immediately activated emergency procedures and informed the Catalan police. Officers quickly arrived at the property and secured the area. Authorities have since opened an investigation into the attempted robbery. The Criminal Investigation Division is now reviewing CCTV footage collected from the property. Investigators are also examining photographs of the suspects in an effort to identify and locate them. Police are treating the incident as an attempted burglary involving forced entry. The attempted break-in comes only weeks after Yamal gave fans a glimpse inside his luxurious £9.5 million mansion through a house tour video before leaving for the World Cup. The impressive property was previously owned by former Barcelona defender Gerard Pique and Colombian singer Shakira before they separated in 2022.The incident also follows a series of burglaries involving Barcelona players earlier this year. In February, defender Pau Cubarsi reportedly had a luxury watch stolen, while goalkeeper Joan Garcia was another victim after thieves allegedly entered his home and took cash and jewellery.Despite the frightening incident, Yamal has enjoyed an outstanding World Cup campaign. The young forward scored his first-ever World Cup goal during Spain’s convincing 4-0 victory over Saudi Arabia in the group stage. He has continued to impress with his pace, creativity and attacking threat throughout the tournament.Yamal also enjoyed an exceptional club season with Barcelona in 2025-26. He finished the campaign with 24 goals and 18 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions, further strengthening his reputation as one of football’s brightest young stars.Spain will now prepare for the World Cup final on Sunday as they aim to lift the trophy. While the attempted burglary has created an unwanted distraction away from the pitch, Yamal will hope to put the incident behind him and focus on helping his country become world champions.
