NEW DELHI: A trainer aircraft operated by a private company crashed near the Baramati airstrip in Maharashtra’s Pune district on Sunday, police said.Visuals from the crash site showed the aircraft’s wreckage, with local villagers and emergency responders gathering at the spot.The exact cause of the crash is yet to be ascertained. Further details on the aircraft and those on board are awaited.The incident comes months after a plane crash in Baramati claimed the lives of Maharashtra deputy chief minister and NCP chief Ajit Pawar and four others in January.The aircraft, a Learjet 45 (registration VT-SSK) operated by VSR, crashed while attempting an emergency landing at around 8.45am, according to officials and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).This is a developing story.
