Pakistan to host England, Sri Lanka in six-match ODI Tri-Series

Pakistan will host England and Sri Lanka in a six-match ODI tri-series from October 18 to 31, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Wednesday.Matches will be played in Rawalpindi and Lahore, with the top two teams meeting in the October 31 final at Gaddafi Stadium.Pakistan will open the tournament against Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi on October 18 before taking on England at the same venue two days later. Sri Lanka and England will meet on October 22.The action will then shift to Lahore. Pakistan will face England on October 25 and Sri Lanka on October 27, while Sri Lanka and England will play the final league match on October 29. The top two teams will qualify for the final.The tournament will be Pakistan’s second ODI tri-series in two years. The hosts had also staged a tournament involving New Zealand and South Africa ahead of the 2025 Champions Trophy.

Packed international calendar

The tri-series is part of a busy period for Pakistan, Sri Lanka and England. Sri Lanka will first travel to Pakistan for a three-match T20I series, with games scheduled in Rawalpindi on October 9, 11 and 13.After the ODI tournament, Sri Lanka will play a three-day match in Islamabad from November 4 to 6. Pakistan and Sri Lanka will then meet in a two-Test series that forms part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27.The first Test is scheduled for Rawalpindi from November 9 to 13, followed by the second Test in Lahore from November 17 to 21. It will be Pakistan’s second home Test series of the current WTC cycle after South Africa’s two-Test tour last October.
