Sunali Khatun's husband joins her, SC closes case

NEW DELHI: Six months after bringing back a pregnant Sunali Khatun and her son from Bangladesh on orders of SC, her father’s counsel Wednesday informed the court that her husband has also been repatriated to India and joined the family in Bengal.Sunali and her family were picked up from Delhi during an identification verification drive on June 24 last year and all members of them were pushed into Bangladesh from Assam on June 26.Sunali’s father Bhodu Sekh had moved Calcutta HC, which had termed the deportations illegal and directed govt to bring them back Govt appealed against the HC order before SC, on whose directions Sunali and her son were brought back on Dec 5, 2025. tnn
