NEW DELHI: External affairs minister S Jaishankar will make a 2-day official visit to Russia to co-chair the 27th Session of the India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Cooperationstarting Sunday, said the ministry in a statement.“At the invitation of First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation HE Mr Denis Manturov, the External Affairs Minister, Dr S Jaishankar, will undertake an official visit to Russia on 23-24 August 2026 to co-chair the 27th Session of the India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Cooperation (IRIGC-TEC),” said the external affairs minister in a press release.

“During the visit, EAM will also meet Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation HE Mr. Sergey Lavrov and exchange perspectives on regional and global issues,” it added.Jaishankar had last visited Moscow in November last year to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Heads of State Council meeting and hold a round of high-level discussions, ahead of president Vladimir Putin’s expected trip to New Delhi early next month.The EAM met Lavrov for talks covering bilateral, regional and global issues, including cooperation within the SCO, BRICS, the UN and the G20 at the time, according to state-run TASS.
