“Somebody gifted me a book this week. Funny how timing works. The timing is hard to ignore. I turned to chapter 1 – ‘Never outshine the master’. Some books arrive exactly when they are meant to,” he captioned the post.Last week, the AAP removed Chadha, one of its most known and visible faces, as its deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha. He is the youngest member in the House. The party also urged the Rajya Sabha secretariat not to give him time to speak on its behalf. The 37-year-old politician, who is married to actor Parineeti Chopra, has been sharing videos targeting the AAP since being removed from his Rajya Sabha post. On the other hand, party leaders have accused him of engaging in “soft PR” and “shying away” from speaking against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.Senior AAP leaders have alleged that Chadha had been “reluctant” to raise issues aligned with the party’s stand. They pointed to his refusal to sign the notice seeking the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and his failure to join opposition walkouts on key issues in the House.Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann, Rajya Sabha leader Sanjay Singh, former Delhi chief minister Atishi, and Delhi unit chief Saurabh Bharadwaj were among those who accused him of “deviating” from the party line.Chadha’s silence during the imprisonment of AAP supremo and then-Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in the Delhi liquor scam case had raised eyebrows, though he had repeatedly rubbished rumours of a fallout. He is the second AAP MP to have fallen out with the party leadership in recent years, after Swati Maliwal, also a Rajya Sabha MP. Maliwal was allegedly assaulted at Kejriwal’s residence by the AAP chief’s close aide Bibhav Kumar in May 2024.
