Landslides block Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Ramban

JAMMU: Massive landslides, triggered by heavy rain, in Ramban district on Sunday night blocked Jammu-Srinagar National Highway on Monday as mud and shooting stones fell onto the only all-weather road link between Kashmir and the rest of the country. The debris blocked the NH between Karol Bridge and Chanderkote, leaving vehicles stranded on both sides.“Efforts are on to clear debris… But as rain continues, there is little chance of reopening the stretch for vehicular traffic today,” an official said on Monday.
