Explaining the decision, Pant admitted that facing a strong opposition brings a different mindset. “Coming here, we want them to set a total for us. They’ve been one of the best teams in the tournament, but at the same time, it gives us that freedom that we can play more freely,” he said.

Interestingly, Pant highlighted a shift in approach, suggesting that chasing bigger targets could actually help the team play with more clarity. “Generally, I feel, playing for 220 runs is better than playing for 200 sometimes,” he added, indicating a more aggressive mindset from LSG.

There was also a small update on team changes, with Manimaran Siddharth coming into the side while Digvesh Rathi misses out. Pant also reassured fans about his fitness, confirming that his elbow injury has improved, responding with a smile, “Much better.”
