IPL 2026: Sanjiv Goenka rushes to Arya, Preity Zinta engages with Pant after PBKS hammer LSG

Sanjiv Goenka of Lucknow Super Giants and Preity Zinta of Punjab Kings remain two of the most visible franchise owners in the IPL, regularly spotted following their teams closely from the stands. Their latest appearance came during the clash at the PCA Stadium in Mullanpur on Sunday night, where PBKS dominated LSG and the post-match scenes saw both owners briefly step into interactions with players. Goenka, who is often seen actively engaging with his team management and captains over the years, including earlier discussions with KL Rahul and more recently Rishabh Pant, was once again in the spotlight after LSG’s defeat. Following their 54-run loss, he was seen speaking to Punjab Kings’ in-form batter Priyansh Arya, who had torn into the bowling attack with a stunning 93 off just 37 balls. At the same time, LSG skipper Rishabh Pant was involved in a separate conversation with PBKS co-owner Preity Zinta. He was present in a small group that also included Yuzvendra Chahal and Shashank Singh, as they exchanged words with Zinta in a casual post-match setting. On the field, Punjab Kings delivered a commanding performance to extend their strong start to the season. They registered their fifth win in six matches, climbing back to the top of the table. Priyansh Arya’s explosive innings set the tone, Cooper Connolly added valuable support, and late contributions from Shashank Singh and Marcus Stoinis pushed PBKS to a massive total of 254. LSG, in contrast, had no answers to the target. Struggling for rhythm and consistency this season, they slipped to a third consecutive defeat. The heavy 54-run loss highlighted their ongoing issues, with the side now needing a quick turnaround to stop the slide and rebuild momentum.
