Tight slap on Congress ‘Hindu terror’ narrative, remarks BJP

NEW DELHI: The discharge of four accused in the 2006 Malegaon case is a “tight slap” on the Congress leadership’s face, BJP said Wednesday, asserting this has again vindicated its stand that the opposition party during its govt invented terms like “Hindu terror” and “saffron terrorism” to defame Hindus due to its appeasement politics. At a presser, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia demanded apologies from Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi for allegedly hatching a conspiracy to defame the Hindu religion. He said the blast had happened during the Congress-led UPA’s tenure. “However, Congress invented saffron terror at its headquarters on the instructions of Sonia Gandhi to hide its failure, pursue appeasement politics and please Rahul Gandhi,” he alleged.Slamming former ministers Shivraj Patil and P Chidambaram for linking terrorism to Hindu groups, he said they must also apologise.
