Dehradun: Geetika Pant from Bageshwar and Naincy Dubey from Dehradun emerged as inspiring toppers in the Uttarakhand board results, their achievements shaped by hardship and resilience.Geetika scored 98% in Class 12, jointly topping the state, while balancing her studies with caring for her ailing grandfather until his death. She later dedicated her success to him, crediting her taxi-driver father and family support for helping her persist through financial strain. She now aims to become an engineer.Naincy Dubey topped her Dehradun school in Class 10 with 83% after her family left Uttar Pradesh due to farming losses and land deprivation. Her father works as a gardener, and the family cannot afford private tuition, so she relied on self-study and free resources. She hopes to pursue science and join the merchant navy.Across Uttarakhand, girls outperformed boys, pass percentages improved, and several students from modest backgrounds achieved top ranks through discipline and determination.
