Gujarat Titans won the toss and elected to field against Chennai Super Kings in their IPL 2026 clash at Chepauk, with both captains expecting a competitive surface.GT skipper Shubman Gill backed the decision to chase, citing decent batting conditions. “Looks like a good wicket. There’s a bit of breeze, and it’s about winning the small moments. If the wicket is good, we’ll look to maximize the powerplay,” he said, also confirming the return of Arshad Khan to the XI.On the other hand, CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad admitted the surface looked slightly dry but remained confident in his side’s ability to post and defend a total. “We don’t mind putting up a score. The confidence is high, but every game starts from zero. We are improving gradually, though there are still areas to click,” he noted. CSK made one change, bringing in Urvil Patel.
