The incident happened when Salman was dismissed in Pakistan’s second innings and hit an advertising board with his bat while walking back to the pavilion. The ICC found Salman guilty of breaking Article 2.2 of the Code of Conduct, which relates to damaging or abusing cricket equipment and ground fixtures during an international match. Along with the reprimand, one demerit point was added to his disciplinary record. It was his second offence in the last 24 months, taking his total tally to two demerit points.Salman accepted the punishment proposed by ICC match referee Jeff Crowe, meaning there was no need for a formal hearing. He scored 71 runs and shared an important partnership with Mohammad Rizwan while trying to save the match. The loss has pushed Pakistan down to eighth place in the World Test Championship standings, with the team managing just one win from four matches in the current cycle.
