Across five innings, Samson amassed 321 runs at an average of 80.25 and a strike rate of 199.37, hitting 27 fours and 24 sixes. Samson surpassed Virat Kohli’s 319-run tally from the 2014 T20 World Cup to set a new record for the most runs by an Indian in a single T20 World Cup edition. He also became one of the few batters, alongside Virat and Shahid Afridi, to post fifties in both the semifinal and final of a T20 World Cup.
