Assam elections 2026: Congress releases 2nd list of 23 candidates, leaves 15 seats for allies

The Indian National Congress on Saturday released its second list of 23 candidates for the upcoming Assam Legislative Assembly election 2026, fielding leaders such as Abdul Khaleque, Rakibuddin Ahmed and Bipul Gogoi.The party left 15 constituencies for its alliance partners as part of its seat-sharing arrangement for the polls.List on candidates in 2nd listHere is the full 2nd list as released by Congress:

The party had released its first list of 42 candidates for the Assam polls earlier this month, fielding key leaders including Gaurav Gogoi from Jorhat, Leader of Opposition Debabrata Saikia from Nazira, and sitting MLAs Nandita Das from Hajo-Sualkuchi and Diganta Barman from Barkhetri. The list also included Mira Borthakur Goswami from Dispur, while youth leaders Tanzil Hussain and Prateek Bordoloi were fielded from Samaguri and Margherita respectively
