Arjun Tendulkar, son of Sachin, makes honest admission: 'I don't have cricketer friends'

NEW DELHI: Arjun Tendulkar, son of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, has opened up about his personal life, surprising many with how different it is from what people expect. Now part of Lucknow Super Giants for IPL 2026 after moving from Mumbai Indians, he is preparing for a fresh start while dealing with constant attention and expectations.In a candid podcast with Shubhankar Mishra, Arjun shared that his life off the field is simple and not centred around cricket circles. When asked how he stays calm, he said, “I have five dogs in Goa, and I spend time playing with them.”

He also revealed, “I don’t really have cricketer friends; most of my friends don’t play cricket,” adding that they don’t even discuss the game much.Despite facing trolling and pressure because of his father’s legacy, Arjun remains unfazed. When asked if criticism affects him, he replied, “No, I’m not.” His grounded attitude and simple lifestyle stand out, especially given the spotlight he lives under.Arjun didn’t get many chances at Mumbai due to strong competition from top bowlers. Now at Lucknow, he faces another tough fight for a place in the playing XI, with several established and young pacers in the squad. However, his all-round ability, especially his batting, could help him secure a role.He also spoke about his inspiration, naming Yuvraj Singh apart from his father. Comparing their styles, he said with a smile, “He was a spinner; I am a pacer.”As he begins this new chapter, all eyes remain on whether Arjun can step out of his father’s shadow and make his own mark.
