'I also have same question': DC coach has no update on Mitchell Starc's arrival; makes big admission

Delhi Capitals have won their first two matches without Mitchell Starc, but bowling coach Munaf Patel said the team wants him to join the squad soon, calling him one of the top bowlers in the IPL.Starc has not yet received his NOC from Cricket Australia and is also dealing with a shoulder injury.Speaking before the match against Gujarat Titans, Munaf said he is checking for updates on Starc every day.“I ask people around everyday, about the timing of his arrival and by when he is coming and what the details are because he is important for us, as a main bowler. Actually I also have the same question everyday. Till now there is no update on when he will come because the update will come from the Australian board, his physio, or trainer,” said Munaf in the pre-match press conference on Tuesday.“We have won two games so it has not been felt,” Munaf said on a lighter note.“If we don’t do well, it depends. He is one of the best in the world. There is no bigger bowler in the IPL than Starc. Jasprit Bumrah is the only one I can think of. He has so much experience, he swings at 140kmph plus with the new ball. I follow up with the team every day. Cricket Australia will update us. We need him as our main bowler,” said Munaf.Munaf said he is enjoying working with bowlers like Lungi Ngidi, T Natarajan and Aquib Nabi. When asked about fast bowlers who bowl above 150 kmph and get injured often, Munaf gave a light reply.“The guys who bowl at 150 are not playing. If they don’t play they will stay injured. We have come from a system that the more you bowl the more rhythm you have. When you are injured and not in rhythm, you will automatically get injured,” he said.
