Amarnath yatra from July 3 to August 28, registration begins on April 15

JAMMU: The annual pilgrimage to the cave shrine of Amarnath will start on July 3 and continue for 57 days, concluding on Raksha Bandhan on Aug 28.“Pilgrims between the ages of 13 and 70 can undertake the yatra. Registrations will begin on April 15… Registered pilgrims will receive group accident insurance with the sum assured enhanced to Rs 10 lakh per person,” Lt governor Manoj Sinha told a press conference on Sunday.The registration facility will be available at 554 branches of J&K Bank, PNB, SBI, and Yes Bank across the country. Pratham Pujan, undertaken to invoke the blessings of Lord Shiva, will be held on Jyeshtha Purnima on June 29.
