The young prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has already lit up IPL 2026 with a blistering run of form, and now he stands on the brink of another major milestone in T20 cricket. The 15-year-old Rajasthan Royals sensation is just one six away from completing 100 sixes in T20 cricket. If he achieves the feat, he will become the only teenager in the world to reach this landmark.Sooryavanshi has already etched his name into the record books this season with a series of remarkable achievements:

  1. Fastest to 400 Runs in an IPL Season: He reached 400 runs in just 167 balls, shattering the previous record of 188 balls held by Andre Russell
  2. Youngest & Fastest to 1,000 T20 Runs: During his 37-ball 103 against SRH, he became the youngest player to reach 1,000 runs in men’s T20s and the fastest by balls faced, achieving it in 473 balls, eclipsing Mitchell Owen’s 533-ball record.
  3. Most Sixes by an Indian in an IPL Innings: He smashed 12 sixes against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 25, 2026, breaking the previous Indian record of 11 shared by himself and Murali Vijay.
  4. Fastest Century of the Season: His 36-ball ton against SRH is the fastest of the 2026 edition and the third-fastest in IPL history.
  5. Youngest to Multiple Centuries: He is the youngest player ever to score two centuries in the IPL, both of which came in under 40 balls.

Now, all eyes are on his potential 100th six, which could come in Rajasthan Royals’ clash against Delhi Capitals in Jaipur.

Abhishek currently holds the record with 42 sixes in IPL 2024.In IPL 2026 so far, Sooryavanshi has scored 400 runs in 9 matches at an average of 44.44 and an astonishing strike rate of 238.09, including one century and two fifties, with a best score of 103. He has struck 34 fours and 37 sixes. He just needed 6 sixes to surpass Abhishek’s record.Overall, since making his IPL debut last season, Sooryavanshi has accumulated 652 runs in 16 innings at an average of 40.75 and a strike rate of 224.82, including two centuries and three fifties.
