Bengal minister: No ban on cattle slaughter, follow existing rules

Bengal municipal affairs minister Agnimitra Paul said cattle slaughter remains legal in the state if carried out under provisions already in force. “We have never asked anyone to clo- se their shops. The decisi- on was taken keeping everything in mind.” Paul remarks followed an appeal by a prominent cleric, asking Muslims to avoid buying cows for Eid sacrifice
