NEW DELHI: Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan continued their dream run in IPL 2026 by scripting a major T20 record during Gujarat Titans’ chase against Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2 on Friday.Gujarat Titans’ opening pair became the first duo in men’s T20 cricket history to register 11 century partnerships. The landmark stand came during their pursuit of Rajasthan’s massive 214-run target at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur.Gill and Sudharsan went past some of the biggest batting combinations in T20 history, including Chris Gayle-Virat Kohli, Babar Azam-Mohammad Rizwan and the AB de Villiers-Virat Kohli pairings, all of whom had previously recorded 10 century stands.

What makes the achievement even more remarkable is the speed at which the Gujarat pair reached the milestone. Gill and Sudharsan completed 11 century partnerships in just 48 innings together, far fewer than the other legendary combinations.The pair once again displayed their superb chemistry under pressure while chasing a daunting total in a knockout clash. Rajasthan Royals had posted 214/6 earlier in the evening, thanks largely to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s explosive 96 off 47 balls and Donovan Ferreira’s late blitz in the final over.In response, Gill and Sudharsan came out aggressively and immediately put Rajasthan’s bowlers under pressure. By the end of the 11th over, Gujarat Titans had raced to 144 without loss, with Gill batting on 81 off just 39 deliveries and Sudharsan unbeaten on 51 from 27 balls.The partnership highlighted the contrasting but highly effective styles of the two batters. Gill mixed elegant strokeplay with calculated aggression, while Sudharsan kept the scoreboard moving fluently with clean hitting and sharp running between the wickets.Their consistency at the top has become one of Gujarat Titans’ biggest strengths over the past two IPL seasons.
