Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s record-shattering IPL 2026 campaign reached yet another unbelievable milestone during Qualifier 2 against Gujarat Titans as the Rajasthan Royals youngster became the fastest player ever to complete 1000 IPL runs. The teenage sensation broke Andre Russell’s long-standing record, with the West Indies star previously having reached the landmark in 545 balls. Interestingly, this was actually the slowest fifty of his IPL career, reaching the milestone in 28 balls. His previous slowest IPL fifty had come off 27 balls against Chennai Super Kings in Delhi last year. The stat perfectly captures the absurd level at which he has batted this season. This was his eighth 50-plus score in the IPL, and on five of the previous seven occasions, he had reached the landmark in 17 balls or fewer.
