Portugal wrapped up their FIFA World Cup preparations with a 2-1 victory over Nigeria in a friendly match, but it was not a perfect evening for Cristiano Ronaldo. The veteran forward had several good chances to score but failed to find the net. Ronaldo, who holds the men’s record for international goals with 143, was given more playing time than any other outfield player in Portugal’s starting lineup. However, despite getting opportunities in both halves, he could not add to his remarkable tally before being substituted in the 65th minute.Watch:Portugal took the lead in the 23rd minute through Pedro Neto. Nigeria responded well and levelled the score 14 minutes later when Akor Adams found the back of the net.The match remained evenly poised until the second half, when Portugal’s substitutes made an impact. Eyes on the World Cup
