Nora Fatehi to headline FIFA World Cup 2026 opening ceremony in Canada: When and where to watch

The FIFA World Cup 2026 moves from Mexico to Canada for its second opening ceremony on Friday, following an action-packed start to the tournament.After Mexico staged the tournament’s first opening celebrations and kicked off their campaign with a victory, attention now shifts to Toronto, where co-hosts Canada will begin their World Cup journey against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Before the match gets underway, fans will be treated to a star-studded opening ceremony at Toronto Stadium.Bollywood star and international performer Nora Fatehi is set to headline the entertainment programme. She will be joined by an impressive lineup of artists that includes Alanis Morissette, Alessia Cara, Elyanna, Jessie Reyez, Michael Buble, Sanjoy, Vegedream and William Prince.The tournament got off to a memorable start in Mexico City, where Mexico defeated South Africa 2-0 despite their opponents finishing the game with nine players. Julian Quinones and Raul Jimenez found the net for the hosts, who are staging the FIFA World Cup for a record third time. Elsewhere in Group A, South Korea recovered from an early setback to defeat Czechia 2-1 in Guadalajara.
