Avoid granting leave to students on June 20 & 21, National Medical Commission tells medical colleges
NMC has directed all medical colleges to remain vigilant and avoid granting leave

NEW DELHI: With the NEET-UG retest on June 21, National Medical Commission (NMC) has directed all medical colleges to remain vigilant and avoid granting leave to students on June 20 and 21, citing past instances where students were found involved in activities that could compromise the exam’s integrity.In a notice, NMC asked medical colleges to sensitise students against involvement in any activity that could be prejudicial to the exam’s conduct and said the measure was intended as a deterrent. The move follows a communication from the education ministry’s department of higher education to the health ministry.The communication noted that in the past, some medical college students had been found involved in activities that could compromise the sanctity of examinations and requested that medical colleges remain alert and ensure students are discouraged from participating in such activities.NMC advised colleges not to grant leave to students on June 20 and 21 except in exceptional circumstances with proper justification.
