'Portrayed as Lord Krishna': BJP slams Samajwadi Party for 'mocking Hindus' over Akhilesh's birthday havan

NEW DELHI: Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday launched a scathing attack against the Samajwadi Party, accusing it of mocking Hindus after some of its workers allegedly performed a havan while portraying Akhilesh Yadav as Lord Krishna on his birthday. In a post on X, BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari shared a video in which SP workers were performing a havan and said, “Samajwadi Party Congress yet again insults Hindus! Samajwadi Party mocks Hindus by portraying Akhilesh Yadav as Bhagwan Krishna!”“Will Akhilesh Yadav and Samajwadi Party openly accept ‘A grand temple at Mathura on Krishna Janmabhoomi’?! Hindus will respond to these Kaalnemis!” he added. This comes amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the alleged Ram Temple donation embezzlement case in Ayodhya. Opposition leaders, including Akhilesh, have targeted the Uttar Pradesh government and chief minister Yogi Adityanath, questioning his repeated visits to Ayodhya.Meanwhile, Yogi Adityanath has also launched a sharp attack on SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and advised him to visit the Ram Temple.“I was reading a statement by SP President Akhilesh Yadav yesterday. He was saying that if his government came to power, he would transform Ayodhya into a ‘religious city.’ What kind of religious city would you create? It was your government, the SP government, that opened fire on the devotees of Lord Ram. You lack the courage; apart from kneeling before Mullahs and Maulvis, you have no agenda for the state’s development or for upholding the identity of Ayodhya, Mathura, and Kashi,” Adityanath had said while addressing a public gathering in UP’s Hathras.Meanwhile, a court in Ayodhya on Friday remanded eight accused to judicial custody till June 29 in the alleged Ram Mandir donation embezzlement case. According to officials, those arrested are Avinash Shukla, Ankalp Mishra, Lavkush Mishra, Manish Kumar Yadav, Karunesh Pandey, Rama Shankar Mishra, Subhash Srivastava, and Rama Shankar alias Tinnu. This comes after Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust general secretary Champat Rai and trustee Anil Mishra resigned, taking moral responsibility in connection with the alleged Ram Temple donation embezzlement case.
