NEW DELHI: Will 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi finally make his India debut on Saturday? That is the biggest question ahead of the second T20I against England at Old Trafford in Manchester.The young batting sensation has been waiting for his first senior India appearance despite earning a call-up after a sensational IPL 2026 season. Now, a cryptic Instagram post has only added to the excitement among fans.Sooryavanshi shared a picture of himself batting in India’s blue jersey on his Instagram story with a simple two-word caption: “New chapter.” The post quickly went viral, with many believing it could be a hint that his long-awaited India debut is around the corner.The teenager has been one of the hardest-working players during India’s practice sessions in England. He has spent long hours in the nets and has looked in good touch with the bat. Although the team management has repeatedly said they do not want to rush the youngster, Sooryavanshi has continued to impress with his fearless batting aprroach.The left-handed opener had a stellar IPL 2026 season with Rajasthan Royals. He scored 776 runs at a remarkable strike rate of 237.30, earning his maiden senior India call-up.

However, he is still waiting for his first international appearance. Sooryavanshi was not included in either of the two T20Is against Ireland and also missed out in the opening T20I against England, which ended in a no-result after rain interrupted England’s chase.With the series still wide open, all eyes will now be on India’s team selection. And after Sooryavanshi’s “new chapter” post, the excitement around his possible debut has only grown stronger.
