Watch: CJP's Abhijeet Dipke falls on stage after being told Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned
Dipke as he got news of Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation

NEW DELHI: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke briefly fell on stage in an emotional moment after being informed that Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan had submitted his resignation, videos shared on social media showed. The incident occurred during a public gathering in Delhi’s Jantar Mantar as supporters informed Dipke that Pradhan had resigned, he dropped to his knees in celebration and repeatedly pounded the stage in excitement. The emotional moment was captured on video and quickly went viral on social media.Reacting to the development, Dipke declared the resignation a victory for the movement but said the party’s protest would continue until its remaining demands were met.“There’s no need to be afraid. This is democracy. He has resigned, but we have two more demands. We won’t go like this. Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned. But the families of the children who committed suicide should receive compensation of one crore rupees. They should get it. One crore rupees compensation to all those families. And second, these police goons who acted on the 20th. Action must be taken against the police officers for that. Remember, do not mess with cockroaches…”Addressing supporters after Pradhan’s resignation letter became public, Dipke said, “Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned. This is the proof that if you don’t get scared, if you don’t bow down in front of this government, you can take anyone’s resignation. Don’t be scared in democracy.”In another brief address, he celebrated the development, saying, “We have done it. Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned.”Pradhan, while announcing his resignation, said he had accepted responsibility for the controversy from the very beginning.“I took responsibility of NEET paper leak from first day,” Pradhan said after submitting his resignation.Meanwhile, sources told PTI that a draft bill proposes increasing the minimum sentence for organised paper leak offences to seven years along with a fine of Rs 10 crore.Separately, the Delhi Police issued a clarification dismissing viral social media claims that app-based food delivery services had been banned across the New Delhi district.“The Delhi Police again categorically dismisses the viral social media rumours alleging a blanket ban on app-based food delivery services in the New Delhi district. This information is factually incorrect and highly misleading. The Delhi Traffic Police has issued an official travel advisory suggesting motorists to avoid routes leading to the notified area as large gatherings and law & order concerns continue in the affected area. This measure is implemented to ensure smooth traffic regulation, operational management, safety and security of the people,” the police said.
