NEW DELHI: Meta on Wednesday told the ministry of electronics and information technology that posts by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other prominent Indian personalities will receive additional oversight, with reviews to be conducted at a senior level, PTI reported, citing sources.The assurance came a day after the government summoned Meta officials over the brief removal of PM Modi’s first selfie video on Facebook, which was aimed at addressing Gen Z on the NEET paper leak issue.Meta admitted that the video was briefly taken down due to an “error”.

According to PTI, Meta officials are also likely to meet government representatives later this week or early next week to discuss the incident.In the video, PM Modi assured students that the government would introduce tougher measures to curb paper leaks. He said the Union Cabinet would discuss the proposed measures before placing the legislation in Parliament.The video was released amid nationwide protests over alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG examination.“I know that paper leak is not an ordinary issue. It is very painful for lakhs of students and their guardians,” the Prime Minister had said.Referring to the proposed legislation, Modi added: “On July 19, the results were declared. I directed the departments today to establish a fast-track court. The departments presented me with the resolution late at night. This resolution, along with the provision for a fast-track court and harsh punishment, will be discussed in the Cabinet tomorrow. After the suggestions of Cabinet colleagues, it will be finalised, and since the second week of Parliament is starting from Monday, efforts will be made to get that Bill passed in the House as soon as possible.“
