Seeking to increase the Floating Solar Photovoltaic (FSPV) capacity to 5,000 mw from 700 mw, the Centre Friday cleared a Rs 5,070 crore scheme to push development of floating solar projects along with storage set-ups with a minimum capacity of 2 hours. These aim to utilise existing water reservoirs to set up solar plants, helping eliminating competition for land resources.
