Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leaders and workers on Wednesday staged a foot march in Patna towards Raj Bhavan, raising concerns over paper leaks, unemployment and issues affecting students and youth in Bihar. RJD leader and Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav was detained during the march.“This government, which uses AK-47, students are going to throw it away. They are playing with the students’ future, paper leaks are happening, Bihar is becoming the centre of unemployment, paper leaks,” Yadav said.Police also used water cannons to disperse RJD workers and supporters during their foot march towards Lok Bhavan in Patna.RJD MLA Bhai Virendra on Wednesday alleged that AK-47 rifles were used against students protesting over the paper leak issue and said the party’s foot march in Bihar would continue until action was taken.“AKs were used against students who came out on the streets to fight for their rights and protest against the paper leak issue. There have been paper leaks across the country. Action should be taken, and until action is taken, our movement will continue,” Virendra said.

Speaking about the march, RJD MP Manoj Jha said students and youth, particularly in Bihar, were angry over paper leaks and unemployment.“Students and youth across the country, especially in Bihar, are angry. Paper leaks have become a pattern. Young people can no longer bear the burden of unemployment. They do not want rhetoric; they want solutions,” Jha said.The march followed an announcement by RJD leader and leader of opposition in the Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav, who called for a protest march to Raj Bhavan over the alleged collapse of the examination system and the law and order situation in the state.The foot march came amid clashes between student protesters and police personnel in Bihar’s Siwan on July 25 during demonstrations over alleged examination irregularities and the NEET paper leak controversy.
