NEW DELHI: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday took a swipe at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after waterlogging was seen at Delhi’s Talkatora Stadium, where BJP national president Nitin Nabin flagged off a series of “Pavan Mati Kalash” processions.AAP MLA from Kondli Kuldeep Kumar shared a video on X showing Nabin flagging off the yatra amid waterlogged portions of the stadium. Taking a dig at Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta and the BJP, Kumar wrote:“Chief Minister @gupta_rekha ji has made excellent arrangements for a splendid swimming pool at Talkatora Stadium today for BJP’s National President Nitin Nabin ji! Nitin Nabin ji inaugurated the swimming pool by waving the flag and gave full credit for this work to the accomplished Chief Minister Rekha Gupta ji!”
BJP holds Sant Ravidas anniversary programme
The AAP’s jibe came after BJP leaders on Monday gathered at the stadium to launch the procession as part of the party’s Sant Ravidas birth anniversary programme.Led by Nabin, BJP leaders flagged off “Pavan Mati Kalash” processions across all districts of Delhi to mark the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Ravidas.The programme at Talkatora Stadium was organised under the banner of the “Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan”.Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta, Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra and several seers and spiritual leaders also attended the event, according to news agency PTI.Nabin said Sant Ravidas showed society the path of social harmony and equality.Gupta said sacred soil brought to Delhi from Varanasi, described as Sant Ravidas’ birthplace, would be taken to different sections of society.“Our effort is to ensure that this sacred soil reaches every household and every locality, and through it, the teachings and blessings of Gurudev Sant Shiromani Ravidasji reach every individual,” Gupta said.

She said the “Pavan Mati Kalash Abhiyan” was intended to take Sant Ravidas’ thoughts and message to households, streets and localities across Delhi.Malhotra said the BJP was conducting a nationwide campaign on the occasion of Sant Ravidas’ 650th birth anniversary to take his life, thoughts and teachings to different sections of society.
