Heinrich Klaasen continued his extraordinary IPL 2026 campaign by becoming only the fifth batter in Sunrisers Hyderabad history to complete 2000 IPL runs for the franchise. The South African reached the milestone during SRH’s high-scoring clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Hyderabad on Friday. Klaasen smashed a rapid 51 as SRH piled up a massive 255 for 4, with Ishan Kishan leading the charge with 79 and Abhishek Sharma hammering 56. Klaasen and Kishan stitched together a destructive 113-run stand for the third wicket to leave RCB under massive pressure. The innings also helped Klaasen equal the record for the most 50-plus scores while batting at No.4 or lower in a single IPL season. He now sits alongside Rishabh Pant and Glenn Maxwell with six such scores.

Most 50+ scores while batting at No.4 or lower in an IPL season

Player Team Season 50+ Scores
Rishabh Pant DD 2018 6
Glenn Maxwell RCB 2021 6
Heinrich Klaasen SRH 2026 6*
AB de Villiers RCB 2020 5
Rajat Patidar RCB 2024 5

Klaasen’s consistency since joining SRH has been remarkable. In just 53 innings, he has already crossed 2000 runs at an average close to 46 and a strike rate above 169, making him one of the most impactful middle-order batters in the league.

Most IPL runs for SRH

Player Matches Runs Average Strike Rate
David Warner 95 4014 49.55 142.59
Shikhar Dhawan 91 2768 35.03 125.13
Abhishek Sharma 88* 2316 29.31 171.04
Kane Williamson 76 2101 36.22 126.03
Heinrich Klaasen 56* 2020 45.90 169.03

SRH’s batting unit completely overpowered RCB on the night, with their aggressive top and middle order leaving the visitors chasing a daunting target. While RCB still needed 166 runs to safeguard their top-two hopes, Hyderabad’s explosive batting display once again underlined why they remain one of the most dangerous batting sides in IPL 2026.
