“We, the primary force for change, are travelling correctly on our path to victory… at this moment, as election day rapidly approaches, I make one appeal,” he said, calling on party members to step into the field and intensify campaigning.

Push for grassroots outreach

Vijay urged booth-level convenors and volunteers to undertake a disciplined, large-scale door-to-door campaign across the state. He asked workers to dedicate time every morning and evening to meet voters personally and appeal for support.“Over the next ten days… go from house to house… meet the people of Tamil Nadu face to face every day,” he said, asking them to seek votes for TVK candidates on the “Whistle” symbol. He emphasised that such direct engagement would be key to strengthening the party’s presence ahead of polling.

‘Election for a generation’

Framing the polls as more than a routine political contest, Vijay described it as a “grand change for a generation” and a fight to establish “true people’s rule.”He directed state and district-level leaders to work in close coordination with candidates, urging them to “embrace everyone” and carry out campaign efforts with “selfless camaraderie.”“This election is not just for us, but for a grand change… dedicate selfless effort and add strength to our victorious journey,” he said.

Three-way contest shaping up

Confident of victory, Vijay said Tamil Nadu would unite as a “victorious procession” and asserted that “only good will happen.”The April 23 elections are expected to witness a contest between the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance, the NDA led by the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam along with the Bharatiya Janata Party, and Vijay’s TVK, marking his electoral debut. Counting of votes is scheduled for May 4.
