IPL 2026 Points Table after Match 43: DC move up, RR's erratic campaign continues

NEW DELHI: Delhi Capitals registered their highest successful chase in IPL history against Rajasthan Royals on Friday at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur to put a break on their hat-trick of defeats in IPL 2026. DC chased down a record 226 in just 19.1 overs to collect a well-deserved two points.The win propelled DC to sixth spot in the IPL 2026 points table with 8 points from nine games, overtaking Chennai Super Kings, who play Mumbai Indians at home on Saturday.RR’s erratic campaign continued as they suffered their fourth defeat in 10 games. Despite the loss, RR remained in fourth spot in the standings, but their net run rate (NRR) dropped to +0.510.Punjab Kings remain atop the standings with 13 points from 8 games, followed by defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru in second with 12 points from nine games. Sunrisers Hyderabad are third with a superior NRR over RR, as all three teams -RCB, SRH and RR, have 12 points each.Gujarat Titans are fifth with 10 points as they march towards the playoff spots while consolidating their mid-table position. GT have reduced the gap with fourth-placed RR to just two points and are two points ahead of DC.The rest of the table remains unchanged. CSK are at seventh with six points, followed by Kolkata Knight Riders at eighth with five points. While, Mumbai Indians are ninth with four points, just ahead of bottom-placed Lucknow Super Giants on NRR.With the league stage entering a crucial phase, the playoff race is heating up. DC have kept themselves in contention with a crucial win against RR on Friday.
